Lipoplasty
Lipoplasty is the most popular surgery we do. Its popularity has been caused by misunderstanding that its purpose is slimming. The purpose of lipoplasty is to remove fat from areas where it is in excess. This can refer even to slim individuals. Even after "heroic" and consistent diet, fat in such areas remains untouched. This surgery helps you to improve proportions but it does not cause noticeable slimming. If the diet is continued, further sliming is even and fat is not a problem. What is more, results are permanent and gaining some weight does not disturb the regained proportions of the body. Neither is lipoplasty a method to improve the smoothness of the skin (cellulite). For this purpose some modifications of lipoplasty are used, but their efficiency and safety are questionable. Other methods of treatment For the time being lipoplasty is the only efficient method of removing fat. Modifications are still being made to a new apparatus which enables a technique involving the dissolution of fat with the use of a very strong ultrasound beam without the necessity of doing further lipoplasties, which means no further cuts. The first apparatuses are already available in America, however, they are not yet especially effective. What's more we do not know yet whether they are safe enough, as the results of the first tests will not be available for a number of years yet. Cosmetic apparatuses for pneumatic massage used in beauty salons do not relate in any manner to the above. As they are as safe as they are inefficient, you can use them by yourself. Anaesthesia The anaesthesia method used in Melilot, consisting of the formation of swelling ("tumuscency") is considered very modern. In the U.S.A. where it was created, it is commonly recognised and is currently becoming more popular in Europe. It consists of the dripping of fatty tissue with a great amount of diluted solution of a medicine used for anaesthesia and for shrinking blood vessels. This method increases the safety of the operation reducing or even eliminating at one stroke the necessity to carry out other pieces of procedure. If patients wish, it is possible to use an additional sedative - an intravenous anaesthetic whose level is constantly supervised directly by an anaesthetist. Operation Conducting the procedure with the patient on an operating table, the surgeon makes cuts in the places marked above. Through these cuts, he inserts "cannulas" used for draining. Each cut is preceded by a local anaesthetic. These cuts are not longer than 0.5 cm and are well hidden in skin furrows. The first cannulas distribute an anaesthetic in the body. The fat becomes plump and is susceptible to liposuction. Shrinkage of blood vessels protects an organism against the loss of water. Further cannulas are inserted the next morning. Fat is removed through syringes and not by a vacuum apparatus. The application of syringes makes the procedure longer but the operation can be made with great accuracy and relatively little break in the skin. This method is safe and after the operation patients feel much better than after an operation done with the use of regular suction apparatus. Healing After the operation a patient is dressed with tourniquets which increase comfort and safety. Their purpose is to protect against further complications and support the skin in its new position before it shrinks. Such clothing should be worn for 3 or 4 weeks and can be taken off only for washing etc. Stitches, if any, are removed after a week. The operated area can be swollen and blue for 3 or 4 weeks. Small swelling, noticeable only by a patient may remain longer, for as much as a few weeks longer. The final result of treatment will not be visible immediately. For a certain period the skin may tingle or spasm slightly occasionally. After up to a dozen or so they disappear. Soon after an operation some patients feel somewhat worse often in the form of temporary depression. This is normal and disappears as the patient begins to look better.
